Create a pre-renewal direction
About this task
There can only be one pre-renewal direction on a policy.
Creating or changing a pre-renewal direction adds an entry to the history of the policy.
Procedure
- Navigate to a policy.
- Select Pre-Renewal Direction from the Actions menu to view the Pre-Renewal Direction screen. If the policy has no pre-renewal direction, then the Details in the pre-renewal direction screen is initially blank.
- To create a pre-renewal direction or modify an existing one, click Edit.

Select a direction from the drop-down list and set the security level which
controls who can view it.
In the base configuration, you can specify that the renewal:
- Ends in non-renewal
- Ends in not taken
- Be referred to a customer service representative, underwriter, or underwriter assistant
- If you selected a non-renew direction, click Add in Selected Non-Renewal Explanations to add a non-renewal explanation.
