Information bars

Usage

Information bars are widgets with summary information relevant to the user's current context. Users can copy text such as policy number and date of loss.

Use information bars and specific components to provide easy access to summary information about the currently selected item such as a claim. In the following screen shot, the auto icon identifies the policy type for the current claim, the Ins label identifies the insured, and the DoL label lists the date the incident occurred.

No elements use this widget as a secondary function.

Best Practices

There can be only one info bar per page, and it always appears at the top under the main navigation menu.

  • When additional information is available for a specific item, such as Account # , provide a link to the details whenever possible.
    Account field with value shown as a link.
  • Include clear, concise tooltips for all icons. For example:
    Toolbar icons with tooltips.
  • If the claim number appears in the top navigation bar, do not show it in the info bar.
