Starting and stopping Guidewire Profiler
- Alt-Shift-T
- Alt-Shift-P
Alt-Shift-T
If available, pressing Alt-Shift-T within a Guidewire PolicyCenter screen opens the main Server Tools screen. From this screen, you can navigate to the Guidewire Profiler screen and its sub-screens. From these sub-screens, you can start and stop all Guidewire profilers and review their output. However, Guidewire does not recommend that you start web profiling sessions using Alt-Shift-T. Use Alt-Shift-P instead.
Alt-Shift-P
If available, pressing Alt-Shift-P within a Guidewire PolicyCenter screen opens the main Guidewire Profiler screen directly from a PolicyCenter screen. Guidewire recommends that you always use Alt-Shift-P to access Guidewire Profiler if you are working with the PolicyCenter screens. Using Alt-Shift-P to jump directly from a PolicyCenter screen to Guidewire Profiler removes the need to navigate through PolicyCenter application screens and Server Tools screens to reach the Guidewire Profiler screen. It thus removes the need to profile the navigation path to the Profiler and back to the PolicyCenter screen, making the final profiling information much smaller and more easily understood.
To stop an active web profiler, press Alt-Shift+P from within the profiled PolicyCenter screen to return to the screen, from which you can stop the profiler.
Starting and stopping individual entry-point profilers
- To start an entry-point profiler, click the Enable Profiling button for that particular profiler.
- To stop an entry-point profiler, click Edit Configuration (in the right-most column) for the entry-point profiler that you want to stop and then select Disable Profiling.
Be aware of any on-screen instructions that PolicyCenter provides as you enable an entry-point profiler. Certain profilers only take effect after you stop and restart the relevant component.
